Which tier do I start with?
Start a trial — it runs against your real workload with no credit card. Starter fits a single-gateway, single-team install; Team adds staging/prod gateways and audit log export for the first security review.
What counts against the cap?
The sum of logical bytes across your namespaces, as your backing store reports them. Vector count, dimensions, and query volume are not metered — reads and writes are unlimited on every tier.
Is CE really unlimited?
CE has no license and no cap. It is the source-available gateway without the operator, function runtime, or dashboard — see the FAQ.
The fine print
Caps are logical storage as reported by your store, summed by the gateway's existing discovery loop — nothing new to instrument. Enforcement is soft-then-firm and never touches a running workload: at the cap you get a banner and email, everything keeps working for 30 days, and after that only new-namespace creation blocks. Reads and existing writes never break in any license state; caps are enforced by claims in the license key, verified offline (see licensing). Site covers one business unit above 10 TB — a second site is a second license — with premium support/SLA attach.
